State Regulations
The National Home Inspector Examination is currently adopted and/or recognized by twenty-four states for home inspector regulation. It is also a membership requirement for the American Institute of Inspectors and American Society of Home Inspectors; is accepted by the National Association of Home Inspectors and the Florida Association of Building Inspectors; and is reimbursed by the US Veterans' Administration for military personnel re-entering the workforce. Click on the map or select a state in the dropdown menu to view regulations.  In 2007, Florida passed a new licensing law for home inspectors to take effect in 2010. Here is a link to the current law. The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation is the agency that will oversee home inspectors. |
